ISI 2015-35. Oxalis polyphylla var. heptaphylla T.M.Salter

This species breaks with the normal trifoliolate arrangement of leaflets typical of the genus and, instead, is one of the several species with palmate leaves, with 5 to 8 finger-like leaflets. The 3 cm (1⅛") diameter flowers are pink fading toward the yellow throat. When in bud, the red outer margins of the petals give the buds a candy-cane appearance. We offer divisions of HBG 73294, M. Vassar 6396, a collection made by John Lavranos s.n., in the Gifberg Mtns., near Vanrhynsdorp, N. Cape. S. Africa. $7.
