Echinopsis ‘Aglaia’

Flower fragrant, to nearly 5½ inches (13.5 cm) across. Petals obovate to oblanceolate, yellow, tinted red, midrib yellow. Throat-circle light yellow. Filaments butterscotch yellow. Stigma exserted, light green. Flowers fragrant. Stem columnar, to about 3¼ inches (8.5 cm) in diameter; central spines to 1 inch (24 mm) long. Aglaia, meaning “splendor” in Greek, was one of the three Graces and, reputedly, the most beautiful. ISI 2000-1; HBG 85175, Schick 1359-24.
