New exhibition will explore 125 years of the Los Angeles Times and freedom of the press

 

The Huntington will commemorate 125 years of the Los Angeles Times with a new exhibition examining the history of the paper and its role in defending First Amendment issues

“This topic is of enormous importance, one that resonates as much today as it did in the first days of the Times,” says Dan Lewis, exhibition curator at The Huntington.  “By using the newspaper’s 125th anniversary, we get an opportunity to really begin to explore the often complex nature of the issue, and how the press grapples on a daily basis with its many manifestations.”  More about the exhibition...
