Directions

The Huntington is located near Pasadena in the city of San Marino, approximately twelve miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. The Huntington has two entrance gates: one on Oxford Road, and a second entrance at Allen Avenue, just south of California Boulevard.

From Colorado Boulevard or California Boulevard: Take Allen Avenue south to The Huntington's entrance gate. The Allen entrance is approximately 1 mile from Colorado Blvd., and 2 blocks from California Blvd.

From Huntington Drive: Westbound: Cross the intersection at Sierra Madre Boulevard and immediately turn right at Monterey Road. Continue bearing to the right onto Oxford Road, and come straight up Oxford for two blocks to the Huntington's gate. Eastbound: Make a U-turn at Sierra Madre Boulevard. Immediately turn right at Monterey Road, and continue bearing right onto Oxford Road. Come straight up Oxford for two blocks to the Huntington's gate.

From Nearby Freeways:

Harbor or Pasadena Freeway #110: Take the 110 Freeway north towards Pasadena where it ends, becoming Arroyo Parkway. Continue on Arroyo for 3 traffic signals, to California Blvd. Turn right on California and continue for approximately 3 miles. After passing the Caltech campus, continue for several blocks to the next traffic signal at Allen Avenue. Turn right on Allen Avenue and proceed two short blocks to the gates of The Huntington.

Foothill Freeway #210: If traveling westbound on the 210 Freeway, exit at the Allen Avenue off-ramp in Pasadena. Turn left, and proceed south for two miles to The Huntington gate. If traveling eastbound into Pasadena, exit the 210 Freeway at the Hill Avenue off-ramp and continue straight alongside the freeway for 3 blocks. At Allen Avenue, turn right, and proceed south for about two miles to The Huntington's entrance gates.

Santa Monica Freeway #10: From Santa Monica, LAX, or the West Side, take the 10 freeway eastbound to the 110 freeway north. Take the 110 into Pasadena where it will end, becoming Arroyo Parkway. Continue north on Arroyo to the second traffic signal, at California Boulevard. Turn right on California and continue for about two miles. After passing the Caltech campus, continue for several blocks to the next traffic signal at Allen Avenue.

San Bernardino Freeway #10: Exit at San Gabriel Boulevard and go north. Continue for about 3 miles to Huntington Drive. Turn left and take Huntington Drive for about one mile into the city of San Marino. Cross the intersection at Sierra Madre Boulevard and immediately turn right at Monterey Road. Continue bearing to the right onto Oxford Road, and come straight up Oxford for two blocks to the Huntington's gate.

Metro Rail Gold Line
The Allen Avenue station of the Metro Rail Gold Line is about 1-1/2 miles north of The Huntington. From the station, walk south on Allen Avenue to The Huntington's entrance gate at Allen Avenue and Orlando Road, or you may transfer to Pasadena ARTS 10 bus which stops at at Del Mar & Allen.

Metrolink and Amtrak connections to the Gold Line can be made at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
