This focused exhibition on 16th- and 17th-century portrait drawings features pastel sketches, miniature graphite drawings, and pen and ink drawings by artists such as Peter Lely, William Faithorne, and Peter Oliver.

Create a beautiful centerpiece or stand-alone arrangement using flowers combined with lavender, rosemary, mint, sage, and other fresh herbs. Learn the old-fashioned way to make your own homemade ice cream in this workshop led by Ernest Miller of the Hollywood Farmer’s Kitchen. Everyone will a get a turn at the churn while learning the history of their favorite frozen treat. Ages 7-12. Fee includes one accompanying adult. Members: $25. Non-Members: $30. Drawn entirely from The Huntington’s collections of manuscripts and printed materials, this exhibition examines the ways Northerners and Southerners viewed the rationale for the Civil War, which made it, in the words of one war veteran, “a battle of ideas interrupted by artillery.”
