Chinese Cultural Arts Celebration

Explore the music and folk crafts of China in a day-long event that celebrates the beginning of the lunar new year season, ushering in the Year of the Snake. The event is a prelude to The Huntington’s Chinese New Year Festival, which will be held on Feb. 16–17. Artists from Jiangsu Province, China, will demonstrate beautiful traditional crafts such as paper lanterns shaped like lotuses, kites in the form of soaring birds, sugar sculpture, intricate paper cutting, Chinese knotting, and embroidered silk art. The Nanjing Little Red Flowers children’s ensemble will give two performances of traditional folk dance and song. General admission.
