 | Is there a particular location at The Huntington for weddings and receptions? |
| |
Any outdoor garden area is open for consideration, limited only by
logistics (especially wedding size) and previously scheduled
commitments. The massed blooms of the Rose Garden; the delicate lines
of the Japanese Garden; the bridges, lake, and pavilions of the Chinese
garden; and the formal lawn and rows of statuary on the North Vista are
favorite choices, but the 207-acre property includes many other
options. Some images are available on the Web site devoted to filming at The Huntington, but there is no substitute for a site visit.
|
|
| Can I tour the property to see the available locations? |
| Yes. Please visit Hours and Admission for visitor information.
|
|
 | What does it cost? |
| We charge a facilities use fee of $100,000.00 for a wedding and
reception. Because we will accommodate only a few weddings each year,
the use fee amount has been established to ensure an extraordinary
wedding experience of remarkable cachet on The Huntington estate
grounds. |
|
 |
What does that fee include?
|
| It includes scheduled access for vendors on set-up and tear-down days,
as well as the day of the event; scheduled access for guests on the day
of the event; and an engagement portrait session and a wedding
photography session. It includes your choice of location(s), to be
selected in consultation with The Huntington and one of our event
planners, based on your vision for the wedding—the projected size,
date, time, and the logistical details that will be determined by those
decisions. In other words, nearly anything is possible—we just need to
figure out how to make it work. The fee does not include catering,
flowers, musicians, security required by The Huntington, cost of event
planner, etc. |
|
 | Can I select my own caterer? |
| Yes, or you can use our on-site caterer, Sodexo. |
|
 | What are the hours? |
| Amplified sound must stop by 10 p.m, and there are restrictions on
truck traffic after 9 p.m. Other than that, event times are flexible,
although weddings scheduled to begin before The Huntington closes to
the general public (4:30 pm) may want to make special provisions (such
as hedges or draperies) to ensure privacy. |
|
 | What is the capacity? |
| This will vary depending on the location you select. Some locations,
like the lawn adjacent to the Huntington mansion and the North Vista,
can accommodate as many as 400–500 guests; smaller areas, such as the
Japanese Garden, will not be able to accommodate that many.
|
|
 | May we put up a tent? |
| Yes, and there are several flat lawns that would be suitable. |
|

| Are there any available spaces indoors?
|
| Interior spaces, such as the art galleries or Library, are not
available for weddings or receptions, although they may be opened, by
pre-arrangement, for your guests to tour. The terrace of the Huntington
Art Gallery, and the covered loggias of both the Huntington Art Gallery
and the Scott Galleries of American Art are available.
|
|

| How do I book? |
| All weddings must be booked through one of our selected event planners above.
|
|

| I already have a wedding planner. Do I still have to use one of yours?
|
| Yes. Any of our event planners/producers will be happy to work with
your wedding planner. Together with your wedding planner, take a look
at the Web sites of our event producers and contact them to determine
which one you would like to work with.
|
|

| May I take my wedding photos at The Huntington if I am getting married elsewhere? |
| Yes. Wedding and professional portrait photography sessions may be
scheduled by appointment. Location fees and certain restrictions apply.
