The Huntington

Accessibility

All buildings and most garden areas at The Huntington are accessible to visitors with mobility impairments. Wheelchairs are available for loan at the entrance arcade; please call 626-405-2125 to reserve in advance. Mobility impaired visitors are welcome to bring their own motorized scooters, wheelchairs, or Segways.

A color-coded map of the grounds is available online and also included in the Visitor's Guide, showing recommended routes for wheelchairs and steep areas that should be avoided.

Special Assistance Vehicle

savFor visitors who find themselves needing additional help getting around, The Huntington runs a Special Assistance Vehicle (SAV). This shuttle makes stops approximately every 30 minutes at the following locations: The Library Exhibition Hall; the front of the Rose Hills Foundation Conservatory; the Chinese Garden; south entrance of the Japanese Garden; and the restrooms at the Lily Ponds. Look for the SAV signs at these locations. Please note the shuttle cannot accommodate strollers, and there is no service in the rain.

For hearing impaired visitors, assistive listening devices (ALD) and sign language interpretation are available for all public events; please call 626-405-2125 at least ten days in advance of the event to make arrangements.
