Discover more about The Huntington’s Japanese Garden in a talk by Robert Hori, Gardens Cultural Curator and Program Director. For more than a century, the Japanese Garden has been internationally renowned for its beauty and serenity. Before the lecture, enjoy morning coffee and croissants in the Botanical Center courtyard. Following the lecture, please join us for a walk to the Japanese Garden for a self-tour. Advance online reservations required.

Members Estate Tour with Huntington Docents

Get the "inside story" and deepen your appreciation of The Huntington and its history on this tour for members guided by Huntington Estate Docents. Space is limited; advance reservations with timed entry required. The tours launch from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. and are approximately 90 minutes long. The last tour group leaves from Barth Grove in the entry area at 9:45 a.m. Please reserve your tour by Wed., Oct. 5. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.

Strange Science 2022: Into the Dark

For Premiere level Members (Affiliate, Supporting, Patron, Benefactor, and Society of Fellows)

Step into a darker time when magic and science had not yet been divided. See how the midnight woods could reveal a shadowy clearing where hooded figures dance around a bubbling cauldron.
Does it contain a healing elixir, a love potion, or something dangerously wicked? Join us and explore arcane experiments, unexpected discoveries, and forbidden passions through live theatrical performances, scholarly lectures, and special displays of rarely seen objects from our vaults.
Age 21+ event. Capacity is limited. Advance tickets required.

Annual Member Events

  • Members Spring Preview Plant Sale - Members shop early before the sale opens to the public. Choose from a wide variety of rare and unusual plants and proven favorites.
  • Summer Evening Strolls - Enjoy a lovely stroll in the gardens after hours on selected dates during the summer. Dine in the 1919 Cafe or pick up grab-and-go fare in the Red Car coffee shop.
  • Members Summer Evenings - On selected evenings, Members at the Contributor level and above are invited to walk in the gardens and enjoy casual dining after public hours.
  • Founder's Day Lecture - The topic of this annual institutional talk varies and is decided by The Huntington President.
  • Holiday Shopping Day - Each December enjoy holiday programming and a boutique filled with one-of-a-kind treasures made by local artisans.
  • Exhibition Previews - All members receive special invitations to preview new exhibitions before they open to the public.
  • Premier Events - Affiliate through Benefactor Members are invited to attend quarterly lectures and exhibitions. Lecture subject correlates with Huntington exhibitions, and times vary from afternoon to evening.
