President’s Message: Welcoming You Back to The Huntington
January 14, 2025
To our Huntington community,
I want to thank you for the kindness you have shown to us at The Huntington during this tragic wildfire emergency. Your outpouring of support—through messages, check-ins, and contributions to our Huntington Disaster Relief Fund—has been deeply moving. Your support will enable us to focus on our highest priority: aiding staff most profoundly affected by this disaster. Your compassion reminds us once again of the strength of our extraordinary community.
We have often heard that The Huntington is a place you turn to for comfort during difficult times. With that in mind, I am pleased to share that we will reopen tomorrow to the public, readers, and volunteers. While the road to recovery will be long and challenging—for us and for so many others—I hope that the treasures within our collections will once again offer inspiration and solace to all who visit.
To our Los Angeles neighbors, please know that you are in our thoughts. And to those across Southern California who have been displaced, evacuated, or experienced loss, we invite you to visit The Huntington as our guests. As part of our new Neighbors in Need initiative, we are offering free admission from 2–5 p.m., Wednesday through Monday, through the end of January.
I look forward to welcoming you back to The Huntington.
