Anne Blecksmith, associate director of the library and head of reader services, is responsible for user-centered services at the library, including reference, circulation, reading rooms, and systems. She also supports strategic and capital projects. Before joining The Huntington, she was head of digital services at The Getty Research Institute, where she gained experience managing digitization projects and played a key role in building the institute’s digital library program. Her library experience also includes positions at UC Irvine and the Los Angeles Public Library. She holds an MLIS from Drexel University, an advanced degree in art history from the University of Bologna in Italy, and degrees in art history and studio art from UC Irvine.
