Los Angeles–based artist Betye Saar creates powerful assemblage works of art that speak to issues of racial oppression, mysticism, family, memory, and identity. In this after-hours workshop, connect with other educators over dinner and learn about the art of Betye Saar. Education staff will lead a guided viewing of Saar’s new installation Drifting Toward Twilight using a See-Think-Do learning framework and an assemblage art activity that you can do in your classroom.
- This workshop aligns with our curriculum the Betye Saar Art Box.
- Comfortable shoes are recommended. The workshop involves standing and walking on concrete paths and wood floors during the gallery visit rotation.
- If you have any accessibility needs, please email learning coordinator Kristin Brisbois at kbrisbois@huntington.org.
