Family Workshop: Chinese Brush Painting – DongZhi Festival

Join Chinese brush painting instructor Peifang Liang for a hands-on workshop inspired by DongZhi, China's Winter Solstice Festival.
Classes

DongZhi, the Winter Solstice Festival, is a significant celebration in China and other East Asian countries. The yin and yang principles of balance and harmony in the cosmos are at the root of this holiday's beginnings. Learn about Chinese traditions and brush painting materials to create a masterpiece of beautiful winter foliage!

  • All ages welcome, but workshop instruction is recommended for children ages 6–12.
  • Fee includes the use of painting supplies for one child and one accompanying adult, and admission to The Huntington.
  • You may also purchase your own Chinese Brush Painting Kit to use during class and take home for $15.99. (Painting kits available as an add-on when registering. Kits will be distributed at the beginning of class.)
