Lectures

Inspired by the exhibition “Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts” attendees will learn how the Walt Disney Studios transformed European fairy tales—focusing on stories from France, Germany, and Italy—by incorporating them into their early films, ultimately making the company famous. Participants will learn about and discuss “Silly Symphonies,” “Snow White,” “Pinocchio,” “Bambi,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Disneyland,” and more. Melinda McCurdy, Curator of British Art will join the class and discussion briefly.

Admission to The Huntington is included with the program.
