MUSE/IQUE: Grand Avenue

Seemingly against all odds, L.A.’s artists always find surprising ways to reinvent themselves, their art, and their community. This performance captures the sprawling grandness of Grand Avenue, from Chinatown, past historic Pershing Square and Angel’s Flight, all the way to L.A. Memorial Coliseum, home to the Olympics in 1932 and again in 1984. The musical story of Downtown Los Angeles has always been rich—from the epic scores of The Music Center, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Disney Concert Hall, and more; to the vibrant neighborhoods of Olvera Street and Chinatown; to the long legacy of music venues and jazz clubs around every corner. Headlining this tribute to downtown’s ever-evolving musical landscape, and back together on the MUSE/IQUE mainstage, are tap sensation Savion Glover and virtuoso violinist Charles Yang. Plus, we are thrilled to welcome back stars from previous shows in our season, including Richard Mata (Whittier Boulevard) and LaVance Colley (Central Avenue). Bolstered by the incredible MUSE/IQUE orchestra, Artistic Director Rachael Worby brings to life some of Grand Avenue’s biggest musical moments and stories.

There will be a cash bar with snacks and beverages available for purchase.
