MUSE/IQUE presents “Indivisible: The Glory of Lincoln’s Musical Soul”

Join MUSE/IQUE for their season finale, which will take a deeply personal look at Abraham Lincoln’s profound connection to music.

In dark and uncertain times, music has always given us the courage of conviction. With his presidency plagued by war and civil unrest, Abraham Lincoln often turned to music for comfort, encouragement, and hope. Though he neither sang nor played an instrument, Lincoln once said, “Listening to melody, every man becomes his own poet, and measures the depths of his own nature.”

Artistic and music director Rachael Worby leads vocalists Alaysha Fox and Nathan Granner, fiddler Gabe Witcher, and the majestic MUSE/IQUE orchestra in this triumphant performance that takes a deeply personal look at Lincoln’s profound connection to music. MUSE/IQUE’s invigorating season finale recognizes the power that art has to unite and inspire and how it keeps us marching forward.
