Classes

Join chef instructor Maite Gomez-Rejon of ArtBites and Brandon Tam, orchid specialist and horticulturist at The Huntington, as they weave art, culinary, and botanical history together to create a passionfruit ceviche, chocolate dessert, and specialty cocktail. Participants will explore themes of cultural encounters and fluidity of borders in the “Borderlands” exhibition, and learn about the vanilla orchid and cacao tree in The Rose Hills Conservatory for Botanical Science. Following the gallery and conservatory conversations, participants will make an inspired cocktail from 100% corn whiskey, passionfruit ceviche over warm black beans, and a chocolate dessert paired with vanilla liqueur.

This program will be held indoors in the Ahmanson Classroom in the Brody Botanical Center. A portion of the class will include visiting gallery and conservatory spaces so please wear comfortable walking shoes. If you have any mobility issues, please email Maria Ahverdyan or call 626-405-3457.
