You Can Make It! Family Day

Do you want to make the world a better place? Start by becoming a maker!

  • Bring your own previously loved clothing and learn how to beautify and reinvent them with Teapot Gardens and sustainability stylist, Yasmina Luria.
  • Stop by the community dye pot with Erin Berkowitz from Berbo Studio and learn how to dye your own bandana with pomegranate skins.
  • Enjoy 15-minute teen-led spotlight tours of The Huntington’s exhibition, "Gee’s Bend: Shared Legacy," showcasing the work of quiltmakers from Gee’s Bend, led by our high school volunteers.
  • Make your own plant-based pigments, inspired by the work of Sandy Rodriguez, at the outdoor art cart in front of the American Art Gallery.
  • Take in an outdoor music concert or drum circle by LA’s community-based music ensemble, The Neighborhood Orchestra.
