Janet Alberti
Janet Alberti joined The Huntington as the Anne and Jim Rothenberg Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in January 2020. At The Huntington, Alberti oversees all aspects of the financial portfolio—The Huntington's $55 million annual operating budget as well as its $500 million endowment. She also has responsibility for Human Resources, Food Services (three restaurants, a coffee shop, and catering), and the Huntington Store.
Alberti came to The Huntington with extensive senior leadership experience at arts and cultural institutions. Since 2013, she has led the fiscal, operational, and administrative functions for SFMOMA's 450,000 square foot art museum with a $65 million operating budget, a $425 million endowment, and more than 500 employees. She joined the museum at a crucial juncture—during the planning and construction of a $325 million expanded museum that opened in May 2016.
Before that, she served in various capacities—from chief financial officer to deputy director—at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
A certified public accountant, she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. She currently serves on the Board of the Society for Human Resource Management and Chair of its Audit Committee.
