Betye Saar: Drifting Toward Twilight
Nov. 11, 2023–Nov. 30, 2027 | Renowned American artist Betye Saar’s large-scale work “Drifting Toward Twilight”—commissioned by The Huntington—is a site-specific installation that features a 17-foot-long vintage wooden canoe and found objects, including birdcages, antlers, and natural materials harvested by Saar from The Huntington’s grounds.

Abraham Lincoln never set foot in California, but the Huntington Library has become one of the premier repositories of Lincolnian—manuscripts, books, letters, and ephemera by and about our 16th president. In 1914, Henry Huntington purchased the collection of William H. Lambert, a Philadelphia lawyer who was known as one of the "Big Five" collectors of Lincoln memorabilia.
